;Stunnel For Windows
Due to Warwick ITS's current stance on filesharing, there will be no hub situated on campus. New users are advised to download the pre-configured version of DC++ and stunnel from http://www.twofo.co.uk/resources/twofoDC++.exe and follow the instructions found when running it to connect. Otherwise to connect to twofo, please see the [[Connect | How to Connect]] page.

From on campus, even with the traffic shaper, you can connect to twofo using a program called stunnel.

I have put together a rar file with all the necessary files need for this, which can be downloaded from http://manyhappy.members.beeb.net/stunnel.rar (or http://manyhappy.members.beeb.net/stunnel.zip for if you don't have winrar installed) Just extract the files. Then run the stunnel.exe. Once the icon is in the tray, just set DC++ to connect to localhost:8000 and it takes you straight onto twofo.
This wiki is intended to give information about the hub and how to use it.
This has worked fine with the people who have tested it so far.
Please see the [http://www.twofo.co.uk Twofo Homepage] for up to date information about the hub or join us the [http://www.twofo.co.uk/forum Twofo Forums] for discussion about a wide variety of topics.
You can of course download stunnel yourself from http://www.stunnel.org/ , but you would have to configure it yourself to connect to hub.twofo.co.uk:4144

YOU WILL HAVE TO BE IN ACTIVE MODE (on the latest versions of DC++, this is called "Direct Connection") AND HAVE THE CORRECT IP IN DC++ IN ORDER TO SEARCH AND DOWNLOAD. You can find your IP at http://checkip.dyndns.org/ You should not be using the socks5 address boxes in any way.
Many people have been finding that they cannot download due the the presence of a firewall, often the Windows firewall, blocking DC++. There is a guide to allowing DC in the windows firewall int he help section of this wiki. For other firewalls, I suggest you consult the help guides that come with them or google for the answers.

NB. If stunnel isn't working for the normal twofo hub, then it is possible that the hub has been reset and has hence changed IP address. Merely restarting stunnel should solve this problem and allow to you connect,

If you use Valknut you can simply add a Bookmark to your Hub List for twofo - Address: hub.twofo.co.uk:4146 and then under 'Profile' make sure you've ticked the 'Secure Socket Layer' (SSL) box.
For the beginning of the year the minimum share for the hub has been removed to allow new fresh faced bright eyed people to join twofo for the first time. Obviously though the hub can only be as good as the people willing to share on it, so if you have anything to share then please do so (ask on the hub if you don't know how). Failing that then I expect that pretty soon you will have something worth sharing. A few weeks into term the minimum share will be increased a bit so it is generally a good idea to sort this out beforehand. As a tip, sharing your default download folder is a good place to start, that way anything you download will automatically be hashed and shared back with everybody else :)

If you use another Direct Connect client such as LinuxDC or DC++ under WINE, you will need to install Stunnel. You can get Stunnel from http://www.stunnel.org/ or your package manager/repositories depending on your distro. Once installed add the following lines to /etc/stunnel/stunnel.conf under 'Service-level configuration'
''To share more folders, you can go to File -> Settings -> Share and simply Add as many folders as you want from in there.''

connect = hub.twofo.co.uk:4146
accept = 127.0.0.1:8000
(You can pick any high numbered port you like instead of 8000)
Next open a root terminal and type the command:
stunnel -d twofo -c -d localhost:8000 -r hub.twofo.co.uk:4146
Finally, open your Direct Connect client and connect to 'localhost:8000'

== Working OSX Solution! ==
The way to get this working on OSX is a little trickier, but it still works none the less...
Programs you will need installed to your Applications Folder:

Darwine 0.9.10
UnRARx 2.0
ShakesPeer 0.9.2
the stunnel from the forums

Check Darwine is setup correctly by running notepad.exe in the Sample Applications folder within Darwine. If it is, notepad will open up...
use UnRARx to unpack the stunnel program into a new folder in Applications, and execute the stunnel.exe file. The only way you will know if this has loaded is by the Darwine status window... Once you see it there you're all set to connect to the hub!
Next set ShakesPeer to share some files, wait for them to hash, then connect to 127.0.0.1:8000
and Voila its all set!

"''Just briefly, I myself used DC++ and Bittorrent excessively at the beginning of this term, and my internet was disconnected. Tried various network cables, other people's machines etc, I was pretty sure I was banned. So, being cowardly as I am, I just ignored it, connected to a wireless network someone had in the flat, and went on with my life. After a month I finally rang up, and they said I wasn't on their list. They send a guy round to have a look, he sorts it out, my internet's back and I haven't been fined. Upon enquiry the guy just said it was probably caused by a ban, but there's no record of it on the system now, so just be careful. So whilst I can't confirm that I was banned and would have been fined, I just figured I'd contribute. Move this wherever or delete if you like.''" - RockLoi.

twofo represents the state of online discussion and filesharing for students at the University of Warwick. At present, it consists of a Direct Connect ('DC++') hub which is situated off campus, allowing us to share files and discuss stuff (and penguins).

Due to Warwick ITS's current stance on filesharing, there will be no hub situated on campus. New users are advised to download the pre-configured version of DC++ and stunnel from http://www.twofo.co.uk/resources/twofoDC++.exe and follow the instructions found when running it to connect. Otherwise to connect to twofo, please see the How to Connect page.

This wiki is intended to give information about the hub and how to use it.
Please see the Twofo Homepage for up to date information about the hub or join us the Twofo Forums for discussion about a wide variety of topics.

No Minimum Share

To share more folders, you can go to File -> Settings -> Share and simply Add as many folders as you want from in there.
